Each REAL Luxury agent must apply to be selected for the Division. They must have a proven track record of success selling homes in the luxury space. They must qualify for and maintain good standing as Members in The Institute of Luxury Home Marketing, and they must earn the designation Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist. At other brokerages, it is not uncommon to require only a single, day-long course for an agent to be called a “luxury agent.” These agents may or may not have a track record of selling luxury properties. And many “luxury brokerages” commonly recruit agents who sell a high volume of less expensive homes but have never sold a luxury home; these agents “wear the brand” of their “luxury brokerage” but are in fact inexperienced when it comes to the attention, focus, strategies, and skills required of an agent in order to help clients succeed in a luxury-level transaction.
